A licensed cosmetologist is a beauty specialist trained to treat hair, skin and nails. You would advise clients on hair styles, makeup, skin-care regimens, nail maintenance and any other beauty-related concerns that a customer may have. It provides a personal service that will help a client look and feel their best.
Your cosmetology license can take you in any direction, depending on the depth of your passion for your career and how much you are willing to invest in continuing your education. You can build a loyal clientele, open a business of your own, or become involved in competitions, photo shoots, trade shows, or educational presentations. You could also become affiliated with a distributor such as Matrix or Goldwell and provide them with education, product training, sales and/or marketing. Your options are endless in this fast-paced growing business!
