By providing quality, customized vocational instruction, business and industry training, literacy services, career planning and recreational programming, the GST BOCES is responsive to the changing needs of business, industry and community residents. Maximizing each learner's potential enhances quality of life and strengthens our region's labor pool and economic growth.

GST BOCES Adult Education and Training Services has formed a cooperative partnership with CSS Workforce New York. This partnership allows us to access training money for qualified recipients.

CSS Workforce administers several workforce and training initiatives. If you qualify, you may be eligible for financial assistance toward a training program that will prepare you for a local high-demand occupation. There are numerous programs to choose from that will help you begin a new career or simply help to upgrade skills for a current or future job.

To start the process, please call your local Workforce NY One-Stop Career Center to speak with a counselor or 1-877-ADULTED to speak with a case manager. Don’t delay; start working toward your new career today!

We’re looking for instructors...

Adult Education has an immediate need to supplement our part time instructor pool in the areas of Electricity (Residential and Commercial wiring), Health Careers (Home Health Aide, LPN, Certified Nurse Aide), Machining (Blue Print Reading) and Welding (MIG, TIG & Stick welding). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience in their field and previous on the job training experience is preferred. Possessing a formal teaching certificate is not a prerequisite. We also are looking for instructors to teach other vocational and recreational programs! Courses are offered on all three campuses – the Bush Campus on Philo Road in Elmira, Coopers Campus in Painted Post and the Wildwood Campus in Hornell and local school districts.
