Career Development Council, Inc.(CDC) is located in the south central region of upstate New York, on the southern edge of the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine Country. We cover a three-county region with executive offices located in Elmira, New York and a satellite office located in Painted Post, New York.  In addition to our New York school districts, CDC serves two school districts in northern Pennsylvania.

This region is primarily rural with population centers in Elmira, Corning, Bath, Hornell and Watkins Glen.  It is home to Corning Incorporated, Dresser Rand Company, Watkins Glen International Race Track, and Alstom.

We:

• link schools and local employers
• maintain a resource database of over 6,000 people from our community
• provide programs and services to partnered schools
• provide technical assistance and staff development in the integration of workplace resources and skills into curricula
• coordinate workforce development programs for at-risk youth
• manage and administer grant-funded programs for youth in grades K-12
• operate on a regional level, sharing resources and coordinating across the region
