Welcome to the GST BOCES Teacher Certification Office which provides information about NYS teacher certification requirements as well as evaluating complete credentials and recommending candidates to NYSED for certification.

This office provides service to those living in our BOCES region and those employed in our districts. Candidates are asked to work with their local BOCES for questions and to apply for certification.

We have created a Transcript Evaluation Self-Review for you to complete before contacting the office. Please call or email me to receive a copy of the self-review. Most prospective teachers find it valuable to view the SED teacher certification website, order official transcripts, and complete the transcript evaluation self-review before a one-on-one appointment and/or applying for certification. Once you have transcripts (minimum 2.5 GPA in Baccalaureate program) and/or have completed the self-review, We welcome the opportunity to meet with you. We can usually meet within a week, during regular work hours. Call us to schedule an appointment. Note that appointments after 3:00pm fill up rapidly.
