Career and Technical Education
Building Construction - Available at all three campuses

Building Construction students acquire skills in all aspects of house construction.
Students learn to safely operate a variety of power and hand woodworking tools and machines, design site layouts, use various types of framing procedures and techniques, foundations and form, stair construction, window and door installation, thermal and moisture protection, siding application, roofing, interior finishing, basic wiring, plumbing, brick and block laying, blueprint reading and basic cabinet installation.
Students may have the opportunity to assist in the construction of a full-sized ranch-style house.
The Building Construction program is designated as an NCCER site. Students will be required to take nationally standardized exams in order to earn national certification in several NCCER topics of instruction.

Electrical & Plumbing Introduction/Blocklaying & Finishing
House Framing & Basic Cabinet-Making/Roof Framing, Roof Finish
Exterior Finish & Trim II/Interior Finish
