| Our Goals: |
It's important for talented students to be academically challenged in high school. ACE courses provide that challenge. Furthermore, having college credit before entering college has many specific advantages:
|
| What We Do: |
Academically talented high school juniors and seniors may benefit from this opportunity to earn up to a full year of college credit by enrolling in Corning Community College courses offered at their home schools at drastically reduced tuition rates. Registered students are provided academic and transfer counseling by the BOCES ACE Coordinator, CCC personnel, and home school counselors. In addition to receiving college credit for ACE courses, registered students are awarded high school credit for successfully meeting the requirements of each course and may receive AP credit by completing the necessary examinations. Scholarships are available for needy public school students in Chemung County who are on free/reduced lunches. |

| Information: |
Students are registered in their ACE courses via class lists acquired from their guidance counselors in August. During the first few days of the fall semester each student will also fill out a special CCC form called a Certificate of Residence. Corning Community College will send tuition bills to students in mid-September. By the first week of October, students must either pay the bill or notify the College that they do not want to earn college credit for the course(s) they are taking. Scholarships are available for needy public school students in Chemung County who are on free/reduced lunches. Call Louise Paul, ACE Coordinator, for more information. |
