GST BOCES congratulates

students in Deb Bonfiglio's Drawing and Painting class at

 Bradford Central School District

Megan G. is shown above with her portfolio to get into art school.  She is eighteen years old and a senior at Bradford.  Her favorite art form is painting and her favorite artist is Monet.  She herself paints with acrylic paints and plans to be an art teacher.  Over the summer,  she won first place in the Hammondsport Art Show.  She would like to thank her teachers,  Mrs. Millan and Ms. Bonfiglio and her Dad for "being talented and teaching me to draw and my mom for always being so supportive and caring." .

Tara H.,  shown above displaying her portrait (in progress) of Chase Crawford from "Gossip Girl," is 16 years old and in eleventh grade.  Her favorite art form is cubism.  She enjoys seeing, not what is presented, but the artist's impression of the subject.  She does not have a specific favorite Cubist painting or drawing, nor does she have a specific favorite artist,  but,  if pressed,  she would probably go with Pablo Picasso because he was one of the forefathers of Cubism. Tara loves to do floral still lives, landscapes, still lives, animals as subject.

Her favorite academic subject is history "because it is so extensive and the smallest thing can lead to another."  Her future plans are to go to college to become an elementary (kindergarten) teacher or art teacher.

Tara used to attend a larger school district,  but prefers the diminutive size of the Bradford school district because there are "more opportunities."

Because there are only seven students in this Drawing and Painting Class,  I was able to get a picture of each of the students holding a piece of their artwork.  It is amazing to see this sort of engagement in such a tiny class!
