GST BOCES Congratulates Glenn Colton at V.E.W. Primary School in Bath
Glenn Colton recently performed for students and staff at Vernon E. Wightman Primary School in the Bath Central School District. Bath teachers and administration are to be commended for offering exemplary arts in education programs such as this one. Glenn Colton is a teaching artist and a professional in every way. Not only did his program address the NY State Education standards in multiple areas of the arts and academics, he also was able to excite and calm his young audience at just the right moments. In this show, Glenn highlighted the character traits of particular interest to V.E.W. Primary School. Using many props, humorous jokes, stories and songs, Glenn addressed issues of bullying, friendship, diversity, ecology, nutrition, fitness, literacy and excellence. Student participation was 100% as evidenced in the video clip below!
Glenn came with plenty of props to share, including photographs of himself when he was young.
Glenn was not afraid to meet and greet the students!
Student volunteers helped hold signs displaying words of wisdom pertaining to character. Always Tell the Truth, Read a Good Book, Save the Manatees, Be all you can be, Always tell the truth, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Exercise Your Body, Listen to your teacher, Treat your neighbor with respect, Eat all your veggies and ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST!
