Filled with music, dance, food, images, and interactive activities, the Family Exploration series helps children understand what life was like when certain glass objects from the Museum’s collection were made. 

• One Sunday each month, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 
• Cost is included in museum admission.

Corning based organization seeking to empower girls through the arts is again accepting proposals. Girl Smarts is a series of workshops and retreats  for teenage girls created in 1997 by local poet and business owner, Rhonda Morton. GirlSmarts gives girls an opportunity to use two- and three-dimensional artwork, improvisational movement, creative writing, storytelling, drama and other arts-based activities to discover and affirm their own beliefs and abilities. The activities are not intended to teach artistic technique. Rather, they are used to develop self-esteem, create a life vision, and help girls downplay the limiting and/or harmful messages they may receive from their peers and from society at large.
