Some ideas: Teacher can demonstrate that defensive moves are not allowed. LOTE class is not a contact sport :)
Teacher prepares a paper with a variety of words in the target language. Students partner up (with someone they are competetive with!)
Teacher hands out one paper per pair. Students in the pair each have a highlighter but they must be a different color.
Teachers must be firm with these directions- this game is intense! :)
If a word is incorrectly highlighted, students should circle the word, as it will be a future answer.
Teacher writes or types one of the following on individual index cards:
Teacher numbers the back of the index card (helpful to write the number out as a word in the target language)
Teacher passes out index cards- number face up, one on each student desk.
Students take out a sheet of lined paper (or teacher passes out answer sheet)
Students number paper 1- x. (x= number of cards)
Cards should be on desks in random order.
Student flips over the card and writes their answer on their sheet.
Students are given a certain amount of time and then teacher says move (or plays a song in the target language to indicate it's time to move)
Students rotate through the desk in a predetermined order.
When student reaches their desk again they are done.
