Process (Steps 1 and 2)

 

You will be assigned to a team (decided by your teacher). Your team will need to work together to gather the information. Each person will be responsible for handing in ALL of the work set for each option. For each option there may be group work and/or alone work. You will be using the links and information provided in this WebQuest to accomplish your task.

 

Step 1 (All Students)
Group Work: Explore, research, and gather facts about the Iroquois Nation. Fill in the web as you go.
Alone Work: Once the team is done researching, you will use the information gathered to build an authentic longhouse. This will be done at home (not with your team). Refer to the handouts for more information. ***
      

Step 2: (Teams will be assigned one of the following)

              

 

          

 Lacrosse

 Compare Iroquois lacrosse to the modern game of lacrosse.

 

Group Work: Your team needs to work together to explore, research and gather facts about Native American Lacrosse and modern Lacrosse using the links given. Each person needs to fill in a T-chart as the team collects the information.

 
Alone Work: Using the information from the organizer, write a GOOD paragraph explaining how Iroquois lacrosse have made a contribution to our lives or lifestyles today. This paragraph will explain how Iroquois Lacrosse is  DIFFERENT than the lacrosse game we play today.

 Algonkian or Iroquois Center-seam Moccasins

Moccasins:

 

Learn how moccasins were made and used by Native Americans and how they are used today.

 

Group Work: Your team needs to work together to explore, research and gather facts about Native American Moccasins and modern Moccasins using the links given. Each person needs to fill in a T-chart as the team collects the information.

Alone: Using the information from the organizer, write a GOOD paragraph explaining how Iroquois moccasins have made a contribution to our lives or lifestyles today. This paragraph will explain how Iroquois moccasins are DIFFERENT than the moccasins we wear today.
