Ocean Vocabulary PowerPoint Presentation TG p.11 Habitat Sort: Use the Kidspiration Activity to have students determine which animals belong on land, and which belong in the water. They can use the symbol library to find more animals and drag them into the Super Grouper symbols. This could be done collaboratively with a Smart Board or just a projector; or it could be done individually at a learning center or in the lab. TG p.18 To practice letters (and numbers), students could visit LiteracyCenter.net. To listen to stories with specific vowel sounds, use Starfall.com. TG p.34 Go on a nature walk with students around the outside of your school with digital cameras. Students can take pictures of birds and other living things in their environment. Once the pictures are loaded on the computer, students can make a poster in Publisher with a picture and a sentence describing the picture. Place a copy of the template in individual student folders. · Students open the document from their own folder · Double click the blue rectangle, a dialog box should pop up · The students will find where their pictures were saved · Find the picture they want and double click it. · Then type the sentence in the red rectangle at the bottom of the document · Click SAVE · You could print them on a color printer, or the students could click PRINT Or you could make an eBook with PowerPoint where each student makes 1 slide with a picture and sentence.
