You may be wondering what MarcoPolo NY is. It is a website that has partnered with seven dynamic national organizations with over 37,000 learning objects.
Over 3,000 of MarcoPolo lessons have been aligned to the NYS Standards down to the performance indicators including the new ELA and Math bands. Close to 13,000 direct alignments to the NYS performance indicators including the new ELA and Math bands are included with the website. MarcoPolo content partners create new lessons each month and they frequently revise existing lessons.
MarcoPolo NY is free, easily accessible by anyone from anywhere and is available "24/7". It is full of safe, rich, engaging content. To explore this site go to: www.nyiteez.org/MarcoPoloNY.
The MarcoPolo partner sites include: The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), International Reading Association and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE/IRA), National Council on Economic Education (NCEE), National Geographic Society, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Some sites such as National Geographic Society have over 3000 downloadable/printable maps.
