Cafeteria POS Service (S.M.A.R.T.S.)

GST BOCES Computer Services Center offers a computerized cash register School Meal Management and Reporting Tracking System (SMARTS). The system is networked based but also has the ability to run from the PC's hard drive. It is written in Visual Studio.NET and the data is stored in MS SQL Server.

Crystal Wickham, Food Service Manager at Diven School in Elmira uses the SMARTS cashing system.

This system utilizes the latest touch screen technologies featuring ELO Accutouch hardware. Student/faculty picture display along with a variety of account access data entry options (bar code reader, numeric keypad, and touch screen look-up) are other features of this program.

Reimbursement Reporting (SMARTS Office) and Free and Reduced applications are also integrated into this system.

Having used several different POS systems (WinMaster, WinSnap) I found the installation of the SMARTS system to be very smooth and easy for the cashiers to learn. The GST staff is always available to answer any questions that we might have.
