South Hill Elementary School is located in Ithaca, New York. We have approximately 330 students in Pre-K to 5th grade. Our students come from Ithaca's South Hill neighborhood and the communities of Danby, Willseyville, and Brooktondale. We also have some students open-enrolled from other IthacaCitySchool District neighborhoods.
Our PTA is very active and offers many opportunities to volunteer. Parents frequently help students during school in the classrooms, computer lab, and during lunch and recess.
We have approximately 80 skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated staff members. Our School Site Council is a shared decision making team which includes teachers, staff, parents and a community member. We create and implement the School Improvement Plan.
South Hill has exciting partnerships with IthacaCollege and Cornell University
. Through these partnerships, students and faculty from the colleges regularly visit our school providing additional educational experiences for our students and faculty.
