Members of the GST BOCES Board of Education are volunteers who are elected by members of the Boards of Education from our component school districts to serve for three-year terms.

The Board of Education has full authority for all final policy decisions, within the limitations of federal and state laws and the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education and interpretations of them. Where ever laws or regulations of the New York State Commissioner of Education do not provide, permit, or prohibit, the Board shall be the decision-making agent responsible for establishing and appraising educational matters and activities. All authority rests with the Board as a whole and not with any individual member or committees.
