What we do

Labor Relations Services is a legal service that addresses the individual needs of school districts regarding personnel and labor-related matters. Subscribing districts work closely with our staff and receive professional labor relations representation, personnel administration advisement, in-service training and access to the most up-to-date information and data on labor-related issues.

The mission of the Employee/Labor Relations Service is to provide:

• High quality supports and representation addressing a wide array of personnel matters.

As part of our service we provide:

• Negotiations - traditional at-table, research, win-win, preparation of contract language, review and preparation of salary schedules, memorandums of agreements.

• Personnel - hiring, discipline and discharge, layoffs, take backs, takeovers, seniority, sexual harassment and discrimination claims, investigations, workers' compensation claims and unemployment claims.

• Contract administration - grievances, arbitrations, past practice, language interpretation.

• Other - representation before PERB, Civil Service, and other administrative and government agencies, administration of Health Care Plans, student suspension hearings.
