In Ms. Rose’s preschool class, the students recently went on an exciting “safari” adventure! As they explored, they searched high and low to discover different animals, using their imaginations and observation skills. The Wildwood Exceptional Education Class wrapped up the school year in style! We spent the day building social skills, getting some exercise, and celebrating all of our hard work with a walking field trip. 🚶♀️🚶♂️
Our adventure took us to Burger King and Taco Bell, where we enjoyed great food, great conversations, and lots of smiles along the way.

Today our preschoolers had a blast celebrating Flag Day in the most musical way—by becoming their very own marching band! 🥁🎷 The children proudly played their instruments, marched together, and filled the air with joyful songs.
Ms. Rose’s class got extra festive by dressing in red, white, and blue ❤️🤍💙 and joining in the parade with big smiles and lots of spirit! It was a wonderful way to celebrate our country while building teamwork, rhythm, and fun memories together.

Ms. DeKoeyer visited the Bush Campus Fashion Design program to present a spinning demonstration for students. The visit provided an opportunity to see the process firsthand and learn more about textile techniques within the field of fashion design. #PROUDTOBEGST
Coopers Campus showed incredible heart and community spirit with a recent campus-wide book drive! Together, students and staff collected an impressive 1,159 children’s books, all donated to the Family Reading Partnership of Chemung County to help promote literacy in our community.
To make things even more exciting, we turned the drive into a friendly competition—challenging each program to see who could donate the most books, with a fun reward on the line: a pizza party!
After an enthusiastic effort across campus, the Animal Science program emerged as the champion, contributing an amazing nearly 450 books—a truly outstanding achievement!

Throughout May, students in the Bush Campus Professional Business Financial Technology program partnered with the United Way of the Southern Tier to turn compassion into action. Their efforts resulted in the collection of more than 1,200 hygiene items, the assembly of over 60 complete hygiene packs, and a delivery to Ernie Davis Academy—where these resources will directly support students and families in need.
This initiative reflects more than community service; it highlights the leadership, teamwork, and integrity our students bring to every experience. It stands as a strong example of the BOCES values in action and the meaningful impact our students can make when they work together for a greater purpose.

The Trout Unlimited program at STEM wrapped up with a memorable milestone—releasing our young trout into their natural habitat. Throughout the year, students were hands-on participants in the entire hatchery process, from caring for the eggs to monitoring their growth. This incredible experience brought science to life and fostered a deeper appreciation for conservation and aquatic ecosystems.

The Wildwood New Visions Human Services & Education students brought history to life at a local Civil War School Days event—and wow, did they impress!
After diving deep into research, students stepped into the past by dressing in period attire and presenting their topics to an audience of nearly 200 students. From Clara Barton and Civil War nurses to life as a soldier, 1800s classrooms, childhood games, and the story of the 54th Massachusetts, their presentations turned history into something students could truly see, hear, and feel.
Along the way, they built valuable skills in research, public speaking, time management, and teamwork—all while bravely stepping outside their comfort zones.
We couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, creativity, and growth. Way to go, Wildwood!
