On April 11 and 12, GST BOCES RIC Technology Services staff each attended a three hour Customer Service Training workshop. Our staff learned ways to support teachers and staff through Understanding the Customer, Empathizing with Customers, Managing Expectations, Developing Rapport, and the Value of Outstanding Service. The training was provided through Corning Community College and led by Fern Chan, Director of Continuing & Professional Studies, John Jay College (CUNY).

District Technology Leaders and GSTRIC Leadership recently represented the Southern-Tier at the Annual RICONE Data Privacy and Security Service Statewide Conference in Albany. Sessions and keynotes highlighted strategies that districts and teachers can do to protect themselves from technology related security threats. Presentations included members from school districts, Regional Information Centers, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the NYS Intelligence Center (NYSIC), the Office of the NYS Comptroller, and NYSED Chief Privacy Officer, Louise DeCandia. #PROUDTOBEGST
