The GST BOCES Regional Equity Network of Educators proudly hosted its Summer 2024 Summit, bringing together 35 dedicated regional educators for a transformative day of learning, laughter, and engagement. The full day event is collaboration between GST BOCES Instructional Support Services and Corning Incorporated's Office of Racial Equality and Social Unity (ORESU) and featured keynote addresses from Doug Overton, Co-founder of edtomorrow and creator of "The First Five," alongside Denise Holliday, known as Circlemamma and co-author of Classroom Circles. These dynamic thought leaders guided participants through immersive sessions focused on building strong classroom communities and adopting a proactive approach to restorative practices. Educators engaged in hands-on classroom community circle planning, participated in live circles, and explored strategies to foster positive school cultures, equipping them with the tools to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments.
