New Visions Health students from Bush Campus at Elmira College put their skills into action by practicing vital signs — measuring pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation levels, and respiration. Hands-on learning like this builds confidence and prepares them for real-world healthcare experiences! #PROUDTOBEGST

Through a wonderful partnership with Updyke's Willow Ridge Quality Care Facility, students are gaining hands-on work-based learning experience while providing monthly manicures for residents. 💖
This opportunity not only sharpens their practical skills, but also builds soft skills, confidence, and time management—all while spreading joy to the residents they pamper. 🌸
It’s been a fulfilling experience for both our students and the Willow Ridge community—and we can’t wait to see the smiles continue month after month!

New Visions Health students from Coopers got hands-on practice learning how to properly don and doff PPE! Donning and doffing are essential skills in healthcare to keep both providers and patients safe. They're building confidence while protecting health and safety!

Students kicked off their first engineering challenge with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Using only the materials provided, each team was tasked with designing and building a pair of newspaper shoes that fit one of their teammates’ feet. The shoes had to be strong enough to survive a walk around the classroom and still come off without major damage.
Not only did every team rise to the challenge, but the photos captured show just how much collaboration, innovation, and teamwork went into each design. A fun and successful start to an exciting year of engineering!

These real-world skills are an important part of understanding what it means to work in healthcare and out students are already showing professionalism and attention to detail!

A big thank you to the medical students who shared their experiences and answered questions so openly- our seniors walked away motivated, informed, and excited about the future!

Students in the Wildwood Campus New Visions Engineering (NVE) program had the privilege of welcoming their first guest speaker of the year: Dr. Alexis Clare, Emeritus Professor of Glass Science at Alfred University. Dr. Clare delivered a captivating presentation titled “What is Glass?”, offering students a deeper understanding of the science behind this fascinating material.
During the session, students explored topics such as fiber optics and metallic glass and were even able to examine a metallic glass baseball bat—an incredibly lightweight yet powerful demonstration of advanced materials science.
Dr. Clare was recently selected to receive the prestigious 2025 Women in Glass Award from the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC). She will be honored this October at the Glass Problems Conference. Congratulations, Dr. Clare, and thank you for inspiring our students and supporting the mission of New Visions Engineering.

We’re thrilled to share some snapshots from our very first Free Haircut Day! Our talented Bush Campus Cosmetology students gave 43 free haircuts to Riverside students — and they did an amazing job! ✂️✨ Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special — we’re already looking forward to the next one! #PROUDTOBEGST #GSTBOCESservice #GSTBOCESprograms

From team-building challenges to leadership activities and decision-making exercises, students pushed themselves, supported one another, and discovered the power of collaboration. 💡💪
It was a day full of energy, growth, and fun—and a reminder that some of the best lessons happen when we step out of our comfort zones. 🌟

Wildwood Campus Criminal Justice students, with incredible support from the Hornell Fire Department, took part in a powerful memorial workout that mirrors the intense physical demands faced by first responders on 9/11. This annual tribute is more than just exercise — it’s a heartfelt salute to the bravery and sacrifice of the firefighters, police officers, and paramedics who gave their lives that day.
A huge thank you to Chief Brzozowski, Fireman Brzozowski, and Fireman Love for making this event possible and for inspiring the next generation of public safety professionals. Your dedication and leadership continue to make a lasting impact.
We remember. We honor. We push forward.
