The Career Development Council launched our Working Worlds for Educators 2025 programming with an inspiring start at People’s Place Gallery in Elmira, hosted by Mike Houghton, and at Community Arts of Elmira, led by President Lynne Rusinko.
🎭 Mike Houghton shared personal insights on what it takes for students to pursue a career in the arts—what he calls the “one percent”! His advice? Be confident, visualize your goals, embrace serendipity, take risks, and remember—“there’s nobody like you.” As he put it, “Let me be me!”
🎨 Lynne Rusinko highlighted how Community Arts of Elmira is a creative hub, fostering artistic expression, appreciation, and awareness. Their workshops, events, and programs—including FREE classes for all ages—make creativity accessible to everyone in the community!
