Our incredible Coopers Campus students recently spent 2 nights and 3 days at Lions Camp Badger, a local summer camp in Spencer, serving individuals with special needs - and the impact they made was nothing short of amazing!
From sunrise to sunset, students rolled up their sleeves and got to work tackling projects that will make a real difference for the upcoming camp season. Their contributions included:
🔨 Building a new foundation for a cabin
💧 Repairing drainage issues that caused flooding
🌳 Cutting down trees and clearing brush
🍔 Repairing the BBQ pavilion
🚜 Preparing a new parking area
🎨 Painting and freshening up camp spaces
🪑 Assembling new picnic tables
…and countless other tasks to get the camp ready to welcome campers!
Students from our Heavy Equipment and Collision Repair programs worked side by side, applying the skills they've learned in the classroom to real-world challenges. Their teamwork, dedication, and craftsmanship truly shined—and their efforts will benefit the campers for years to come.
We are so proud of these students for using their talents to serve others, grow their skills, and make a meaningful impact.

NVE's First Annual Poster Presentation & Boat Regatta at Alfred University!
On Friday, May 29, 2026, New Visions Engineering students on the Wildwood Campus, proudly showcased the culmination of a month-long engineering project during our first annual Poster Presentation and Boat Regatta held at Alfred University. Drawing upon the technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and teamwork they developed throughout the school year, students designed, built, tested, and refined their boats while documenting the entire process through professional poster presentations.
The event welcomed principals, school counselors, company representatives, Alfred University faculty and staff, GST BOCES administration, parents, and community guests. Students presented their projects from concept to completion before putting their engineering designs to the ultimate test during the highly anticipated boat regatta.
Some boats successfully navigated the course, while others encountered unexpected challenges—but every student demonstrated perseverance, creativity, and determination. Most importantly, they learned one of the most valuable lessons in engineering: testing, evaluating, redesigning, and trying again.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, resilience, and commitment throughout the year. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the NVE program. Your encouragement helped make this event a memorable celebration of student achievement and innovation. What a fantastic way to celebrate a year filled with learning, growth, and hands-on engineering experiences!
Be sure to check out the photos from the event to see our students in action, their impressive poster presentations, and the excitement of race day on the water!

NVE Cardboard Boat Regatta 2026!
The New Visions Engineering (NVE) students on the Wildwood campus have been hard at work designing and building boats using only cardboard and duct tape, with the opportunity to finish their creations with a light coat of acrylic paint to creatively personalize their boats! Students will also showcase their professional poster presentations and research during the Poster Session before racing their boats at the Boat Regatta on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 9:20–11:00 a.m. at Alfred University.
This exciting event highlights the creativity, teamwork, engineering, communication, and problem-solving skills students have developed throughout the year. We are proud to celebrate a fantastic first year in NVE and look forward to seeing our students showcase all they have accomplished!

Our students are diving into meaningful, creative experiences every day!
🧵 In Jordan Oakden’s middle school homeroom, students are building practical life skills as they learn how to sew—showing patience, precision, and creativity with every stitch.
🌕 Meanwhile, in Landy Sullivan’s science classroom, students are exploring the wonders of space by designing and completing projects on moon craters, bringing science concepts to life through hands-on discovery.
From crafting with care to investigating the cosmos, our students are learning by doing—and loving every minute of it!

Our students recently had the opportunity to participate in the Mad City Money presentation from ServU, and it was an engaging and eye-opening experience!
During this interactive workshop, students explored where a typical paycheck goes, including essential expenses like rent, car payments, and food, along with everyday costs such as clothing and entertainment. Through hands-on activities, they were able to step into real-life budgeting scenarios and make financial decisions based on their “assigned” monthly income.
💡 Students learned:
How quickly expenses can add up
The importance of budgeting and planning
How to prioritize needs vs. wants
Strategies for making the most of their money
This experience helped build important life skills and gave students a better understanding of financial responsibility. We’re grateful to ServU for providing such a meaningful and practical learning opportunity!
