We’re excited to share that Tommy, a Canaseraga Central School student in the New Visions Engineering Program at Wildwood, earned 3rd place at Alfred University’s Engineering and Materials Science Day Scholarship Competition in February!
Tommy and his team took on the challenge of designing a creative Rube Goldberg machine, where he quickly stepped up as a leader - guiding the group, inspiring ideas, and helping bring their design to life.
His hard work paid off: Tommy earned a scholarship to Alfred University should he choose to attend!

Students learned all about making healthier food choices and the importance of eating five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. They explored colorful produce, talked about how food fuels the body, and discovered easy ways to build healthier habits.
The highlight of the day?
👩🍳 Creating (and tasting!) their own Fresh Veggie Pizza!
Students and staff teamed up to prepare this delicious, nutrient-packed snack—proving that healthy food can be both fun and tasty.

After an incredible showing at the US Drone Soccer District II Championship in Utica on March 8, TWO GST BOCES teams are officially headed to Nationals! 🎉
🏆 Owego-Apalachin River Hawks Red defended their district title with a dominant performance.
🥉 Bath-Haverling Rams battled their way to a strong third-place finish.
Both teams have earned their spots to compete at the National Championship in Daytona Beach, FL on May 18–19 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University!
District II includes nearly 90 teams across NY and NJ, with the top 16 competing at this event. GST BOCES was proudly represented by five teams:
• Spencer-Van Etten Skeleton Crew
• Owego-Apalachin River Hawks Blue
• GST BOCES STEM Academy Black
• Bath-Haverling Rams
• Owego-Apalachin River Hawks Red

On Tuesday, our students headed to Alfred State for the Area 1 Regional Skills Conference—and they made us proud!
👥 77 Coopers students competed in 40 different contests.
🏆 Out of those 77 competitors, 31 placed in the top 3 — one more than last year!
🥇 And across all 40 contests, Coopers placed in the top 3 in 18 events!
A special congratulations to Mike Fodge, who was named Area 1 Advisor of the Year! He’ll now move on to compete for NYS Advisor of the Year. We’re so proud of you, Mike!
