Students in Mrs. Hoeffner and Mrs. Fervan’s class took an exciting virtual field trip to Schoolyard Sugarbush in Newfield, NY!
During the experience, they learned how trees are tapped and watched the fascinating process of turning sap into delicious maple syrup. From forest to table, our students explored each step of this sweet tradition—right from their classroom at one of our Western End host sites.

New Visions Human Services and Education at Wildwood, spent the day exploring Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and how it is applied in both classroom settings and across human service fields. Students had the opportunity to practice presenting and engaging in SEL activities, gaining hands-on experience. They also examined the importance of SEL and how it helps set students, classrooms, families, and entire communities up for success.

New Visions Exploration Day at Wildwood brought together Sophomores and Juniors from our component districts a chance to step inside our programs and experience hands‑on learning in action. What an incredible National Engineers Week!
We kicked things off by welcoming 70+ students to explore all our New Visions programs at our host site, Hornell High School, Wildwood Campus— an exciting opportunity to connect, learn, and get inspired, where they could see all our programs in action and decide if this pathway is the right fit for them!
Students continue to take part in company rotations, gaining real-world insight into different engineering careers and industries. Huge thanks to all the companies who open their doors and help inspire our future engineers!
We also celebrated a big win as two students attended Engineering & Materials Science Day scholarship, and one of them proudly earned 3rd place! Congratulations to Tommy!
To wrap up the week, we visited Alstom where students toured Plants 1 and 4 and saw firsthand how engineering drives innovation—from building trains and large-scale systems to the real-world production processes that make it all happen.
So many meaningful experiences, so much inspiration, and an unforgettable week celebrating the power of engineering!

Our Coopers Campus New Visions ILB class recently visited the National Soaring Museum for an engaging and informative tour. Students explored the history and science of gliding through interactive exhibits and historic aircraft displays.
A highlight of the trip was when Lilian used the flight simulator to fly and successfully land a glider. Lilian, who plans to pursue aerospace engineering in college and beyond, found the experience especially inspiring.
The fascinating trip was enjoyed by everyone and provided a meaningful, real-world learning experience for the entire class.

Our Special Olympics Floorball team from Phoenix Academy—The Phoenix Fury—had an incredible two-weekend run!
Coached by the amazing Jamie Madison and Caitlin DiPetta, our athletes competed in the Regional Tournament on 2/14 and the Winter State Games on 2/21… and brought home GOLD at BOTH events! 🥇🥇
This past weekend at the State Games in Rochester, our team defeated the Albany Mighty Pucks 9-3, and the Buffalo Storm 6-4. Over the 2 tournaments, we had goals from Austin Manning, Faith Bound, Ryan Tyler, Isaiah White, Bentley Hartman, and Devlyn Kihm. On defense, Keegan Burlew and Lucas Malanoski were like a brick wall! And our goalies, Jonathan VanZile and Angel Baldick, were incredible, stopping goal after goal.
We are so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and unstoppable spirit.
But what made us the most proud wasn’t just the wins—it was how kind, appreciative, and gracious our athletes were all weekend long. Their sportsmanship truly shined. 💙Go Phoenix Fury! 💙🔥
